Railroad
Contract: $225,930
ERI was contracted to respond to an emergency train derailment in San Carlos, AZ. The railcars were carrying an acidic liquid product and spilled hundreds of gallons in the accident. ERI HAZWOPER technicians excavated 633 tons of contaminated soil and transported to the landfill as special waste in 31 truckloads. All the affected railcars were decontaminated and placed back on the rail.

ERI was the environmental contractor and certified emergency contractor for UPRR in the state of Arizona and in southeastern New Mexico. From routine dust control in their yards to large-scale emergency response, ERI was called to respond.
When there are millions of dollars on the line, ERI came through time and time again. Conducting product transfers in Level B PPE in the middle of the night is part of the job on the railroad, and ERI used trained personnel to perform these tasks quickly, efficiently, and safely. ERI also completed numerous asbestos abatement projects, underground storage tank removals, vapor extraction system installations, and even a sewer pipe tap in Yuma to meet the needs of the customer.
